First saw the "Everybody Gangsta ..." meme in the book What Design Can’t Do (page 111) by Silvio Lorusso. The book was lent from Daniel Burka at Hard Problems. I loved that he just handed the book over when we first met and said "I think you'll like this, read it, bring it back and let me know your thoughts."
